All About the Job

Family Concierge is partnering with a homeschooling family of six on Conesus Lake to hire a part-time Family Assistant and Mother's Helper. This is a household-first role for someone who takes real pride in a tidy, well-run home and enjoys keeping the day-to-day of a full, busy house running smoothly.

Your focus is the home. You keep the common spaces reset and tidy to a high standard, stay ahead of the family's laundry, handle errands and the grocery run, and keep the household's systems in good order. There are four young children under 10, so now and then you'll pitch in with light support while Mom leads a homeschooling session. The work is proactive and self-directed: you notice what needs doing and take care of it before anyone has to ask, while working in tandem with Mom to develop and maintain a steady routine.

This is a private, education-minded family of faith. They keep a low public profile and value discretion. The aim of this role is simple: take the household load off Mom's plate so she can be fully present with her children and embrace their early years. The family would like to start slow and let the role grow organically, so there's real room for the right person to flex into more and build something lasting.

What You'll Do

  • Keep the kitchen and common areas reset and tidy to a high standard through the day: dishes, counters, and putting things back where they belong
  • Stay ahead of the family's laundry start to finish: washed, folded, and put away
  • Run a weekly declutter and tidy rotation (pantry, closets, mudroom, toy bins, linens, etc.)
  • Handle groceries, errands, returns, and post-office runs; restock household and children's essentials before they run low
  • Support light meal prep: wash and prep fruits and vegetables, help get meals and snacks ready
  • Build and run the family's household systems
  • Lend occasional mother's-helper support with the four children as the day calls for it
  • Leave the home reset and ready for the next day before heading out

This is not a deep-cleaning position; a separate cleaner handles the deep cleans.

Who We're Looking For

You genuinely enjoy running a home and take satisfaction in order. You keep things tidy to a real standard, you read a household well, and you work happily on your own without waiting to be directed. You're comfortable with young children in the home, though the focus of your day is the house rather than the kids.

Beyond that, the right fit brings:

  • A proactive, self-directed streak: you spot what needs doing and handle it
  • A knack for organization and the systems that keep a home running
  • Experience keeping a home to a high standard (as a family assistant, house manager, housekeeper, or in your own busy household)
  • Discretion and respect for privacy
  • Comfort and ease around babies and toddlers, and a willingness to lend a hand as needed
  • Flexibility and an interest in growing with a role that's built to evolve
  • Reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and comfort driving for errands

Standard for our placements: CPR and First Aid (or a willingness to obtain), reliable transportation, legal on-the-books (W-2) employment, and a sincere intention to build a lasting fit with the family.

Why You'll Love This Job

This is a flexible part-time role that respects both your time and your standards. You'll have real autonomy to run the systems that keep a busy home calm, and you'll see the difference your work makes every day: a lighter load for a hardworking mom who truly embraces the time she has with her children, and a home that feels in order. For someone who loves creating order and wants to become a trusted, lasting part of a family's daily life, this is a special fit.

How to Apply

Interested applicants may create a profile on our website at famconcierge.com to be considered. All applications should include a current resume highlighting relevant childcare and private home experience, along with a brief cover letter explaining why this role feels like a strong fit. Applicants who do not submit a tailored resume and cover letter specifically addressed to Family Concierge may not be considered for our current or future roles.
