About the Role
Position: Nanny-House Manager
Location: Buffalo, NY; Elmwood Village
Start Date: March 2024
Hours:
Core hours are 12 - 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Flexibility based on days school is not in session.
Children: Primary care for an 8-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy whose interests include card games, board games, math, reading, sports, swimming, and baking.
Activities: Managing a busy schedule of after-school activities, providing reliable transportation and adept scheduling for children attending different schools.
Home Environment: Crafting a fun, stable, and structured, screen-free environment post-school hours.
Flexibility: Willingness to accommodate school days off.
Meal Prep: Proficiency in preparing nutritious, kid-friendly meals.
Pet Care: Light care responsibilities for one family dog.
Swimming: Must be a confident swimmer, as the family has a pool.
Responsibilities
Household Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized living environment.
Perform daily light housekeeping duties, including tidying up rooms and common areas. A cleaning person will come once a week for deeper house cleaning.
Maintain household laundry, including bed linens
Load and unload the dishwasher, ensuring kitchen cleanliness daily.
Clean out the fridge and organize the pantry, including maintaining a shopping list.
Support household organization projects.
Childcare and School Support
Pick up children from school, guiding children through after-school routine
Light meal preparation.
Drive children to and from after-school activities with support from parents as needed.
Ensure children complete homework assignments and provide assistance when needed.
Plan and supervise activities on days off from school. School schedules will be provided in advance.
Pet Care:
Walk the dog daily.
Occasionally take the dog to groomer appointments.
Errands:
Run household errands, such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and pharmacy pickups.
Manage and organize household supplies.
Communication:
Maintain open and clear communication with parents regarding household needs and children's activities.
Provide regular updates on children's well-being and any important events.
Ideal Candidate
Experience: At least three years as a professional nanny and/or house manager, preferably with experience supervising school-aged children
Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, outstanding verbal and written communication, and a stellar ability to multitask.
Personality: An assertive partner who can seamlessly serve as an extension of the parents' values and routines in their absence.
Values: A strong advocate for academic excellence, intellectual stimulation, and physical activity in a nurturing environment without resorting to screen time.
Transportation: Reliable transportation with a clean driving record is essential.
Additional Qualifications:
Deep understanding of child development principles.

A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion in a private home.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Lifeguarding experience ideal, but not mandatory.
