All About the Job

Family Concierge is partnering with exceptionally organized and professional executive parents based in Pittsford, New York to hire a confident and emotionally intelligent Nanny-Family Assistant to support their three adolescent children’s active lifestyles. The role’s core hours focus on guiding a 13-year-old girl and 10-year-old twins through an established after school routine that includes coordinating transportation to and from after school activities, light homework help, and allowing age-appropriate independence while respecting the parent’s well-defined expectations. In addition to this role, the family requires an efficient steward of household duties including laundry, errands, meal prep, and grocery shopping.

The ideal candidate has the flexibility and availability to step in for full-day support (8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.) on school days off, scheduled date nights, and provide occasional overnight care with advance notice. This position is approximately 20-30 hours per week during the school year, and full time in July and August.

The parents both have demanding, high-stakes, executive-level roles, so they highly desire candidates who can exercise sound and independent judgment, work autonomously, and understand the nuances of nannying for children whose parents work from home and cannot be interrupted. The parents are experienced household employers, and have successfully maintained long-term relationships with past hires in this role. With that in mind, the family is enthusiastic to meet candidates who have the experience, energy, emotional maturity, and proven know-how that comes along with supervising adolescents.

  • Be available to be a consistent presence for school days off, summer months, a pre-planned date night, and occasional overnights with ample notice

Who and What We’re Looking For

  • A dedicated nanny-house manager with at least 2+ years of experience working with executive parents and adolescents, or an appropriate combination of relevant work history

  • Proven ability to independently and autonomously manage the unique needs of teens and tweens with minimal parental guidance

  • Superior and effective communication skills with adolescents who know how to “play the game” when motivated by their own wants and interests

  • An authoritative presence who can guide and foster a child’s independence, read the room, and know when to intervene when appropriate

  • A confident and independent household manager who is resourceful, detail oriented, and proactive

  • A clean driving record and access to a safe and reliable vehicle that can seat 3 children with room for sports equipment

  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain/renew)

  • Reliability and punctuality

  • Ability to commit to the family for at least one year, ideally 2-3 years total

  • Experience and comfort with the dynamics of a household with parents working from a home office and a busy travel schedule
