Hours: Target of 20–30 hours per week across after-school, school days off, and summer
Additional Coverage Needed: School days off, holidays, longer school breaks, and occasional Friday or Saturday evening date nights (scheduled in advance)
Compensation: $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience and education

Family Concierge is partnering with a warm, practical, and professional family of four in the village of Avon to hire a reliable, gentle, and energetic Nanny-Family Assistant. Both parents are deeply invested in a growing professional practice and have reached a point where their work and family life require consistent, high-quality support. They are seeking a dependable partner to help maintain the level of excellence they expect in both their business and their home.
The core of this position is afternoon support during the school year, with a blend of Family Assistant time and hands-on childcare. From 1:00-3:00 p.m., the Nanny-Family Assistant will focus on family-related household tasks and while the children are in school or at programs. From 3:00-5:00 p.m., the focus shifts to after-school care for their preschool-aged son, with the older child joining as needed based on schedule.
Their 7-year-old is kind, easygoing, and an excellent listener with lots of energy. Their 3.5-year-old is a sweet, affectionate preschooler enrolled full-time in an early childhood program and making wonderful progress with early speech and language interventions. He can be stubborn and is less independent than some peers his age, however he will thrive with a nanny who is patient, calm, and comfortable supporting mild developmental delays, including ongoing potty training.
This position is ideal for a caregiver who enjoys routine, movement, and hands-on play, and who can confidently shift between a higher-energy older child and a younger child who needs more one-on-one support and attention. The family is excited to welcome someone who can become a trusted, long-term partner in their home.
What You’ll Do
Childcare Duties
Provide warm, attentive care for a 3.5 year old boy after his school day, with his older brother joining in
Create a predictable, consistent after-school rhythm: arrival/decompression, snack, outdoor play (weather permitting), and calm end-of-day activities
Plan and facilitate screen-free activities that reflect the boys’ interests like outdoor games, library trips, card games, LEGO builds, painting kits, and simple STEM projects
Support the younger child’s speech and communication goals by modeling language, narrating play, offering choices, and incorporating strategies the parents share from his program
Gently and consistently reinforce potty training and other independence skills (washing hands, dressing, cleaning up toys) with patience and positive reinforcement
Prepare simple, kid-friendly snacks and light meals and ensure the kitchen and eating areas are tidied afterward
During school breaks and summer, expand these routines into fuller daytime care, including planning outings, maintaining a balanced daily structure, and optional transportation to summer camp programs and activities close to home.
Family Assistant Support
Handle family and household tasks such as laundry, light tidying of play, bedroom, and common areas
Run family-related errands as needed like grocery runs, family shopping, in-store pickups, online returns, post office runs
Provide basic family administrative assistant support as requested, such as organizing children’s items for school, activities, or camp
Additional Coverage
Provide full or partial-day coverage on planned school days off, holidays, and teacher workdays, as scheduled in advance; the family follows two separate school-year calendars that have been finalized through July 2025 to support predictable planning, and will determine 2026-2027 dates when each school’s instructional calendar becomes available.
Offer occasional Friday or Saturday evening “date night” care with adequate notice
Who We’re Looking For
At least 2–3 years of experience working as a nanny in a private home
Demonstrated experience and developmental knowledge of toddler and school-age boys
Experience working for parents who own and operate a growing family business, or comfort supporting busy executive parents with demanding schedules
Familiarity or comfort with speech delays, early intervention, or developmental differences, and a willingness to follow parent and provider guidance
Gentle, consistent approach to potty training and early independence skills
Enjoys channeling “bouncy” energy into safe, fun activities both outdoors and indoors
Able to incorporate building, problem-solving, and hands-on exploration into play
Understands that consistent, on-time care is essential to this family’s work and is strongly committed to reliability and punctuality
Takes initiative in planning age-appropriate activities and keeping the home tidy and organized around child and family-related tasks
A strong, confident communicator who understands the nuances of professional boundaries with executives
Respects the family’s privacy, values, and parenting choices and is open to feedback and collaboration
Ability to commit to the family for at least one year, with a preference for candidates interested in growing with the family over multiple years
Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to renew prior to start)
A clean driving record and a reliable, insured vehicle for transporting the children
Comfortable working in a home with one cat
